Hotfoot Hamster 12-Hour Results

ATY 2K6 Finish

On Saturday, September 4, 2004, Nardini Manor hosted a free, low-key all-night 12-hour race, directed by Geri Kilgariff.

Three runners took it seriously, running all 12 hours to see how far they could go. Gary Culver, Robert Andrulis, and Lynn Newton took the invisible Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals, respectively.

John Smithson came later after a night on the town to crank out a 50k before dawn. Don Meyer planned to just make a guest appearance after flying in from LA, but ended up staying quite a few hours to run with Robert. Debbie Leftwich and Aaron Mascarella arrived after midnight to pound out well over 20 miles. Aaron would have run further if the roosters hadn't ticked him off. Then there were those of us who showed up in our PJs and alternated running with BSing and wine-drinking. Obviously from the results, more time was spent with BS and wine than running.

Many thanks to Rodger Wrublik for hosting and timing the event at Nardini Manor. Rodger's new timing system worked like a charm. And a big thanks to Burke Painter who donated the water, ice and coolers and worked the aid station all night long.
